The Chiropractic Message of Life
“Doc what _______ can I do to help this?”
You fill in the blank, what stretch, exercise, food, pillow, mattress, shoes, etc. can I use to make this get better faster?
The fact is this, you can easily google the answer to all these questions above and get a pretty good answer. There is no magic stretch, shoe, pillow, or exercise. Do all of these things have an impact on our expression of health? YES. Are they secrets? NO.
A key component to a life of more health has been kept a secret though. It’s something that is readily available, accessible, affordable, and can benefit everyone from day one to our last day of life. What is this secret you ask? Well, unfortunately the reason it’s such a mystery isn’t because of a lack of effort. It has to do with a lack of education. Most chiropractors aren’t prepared to do the work, to show up everyday to their offices and educate, educate, educate. It’s honestly much easier to cave and give someone what they want, like a hamstring stretch or a pillow recommendation. It takes more commitment and dedication to tell someone what they need to hear. So what do you want?
Chiropractic is not a cure, fix, or treatment for any ailment, sickness or disease. It simply and significantly is a way connect the body within to its normal healing process. Do this for a lifetime and yes you will experience more health throughout your life than if you hadn’t. Why? Because your body will be doing what it’s designed to do.
What is your body designed to do? It’s designed to heal, regenerate, replenish, detox, grow, evolve, and develop. What are all these things part of? Well they are part of LIFE.
This might be surprising to read, or maybe more confusing. Believe me, I’ve spent my whole life so far being adjusted, and the last 14 years studying human physiology, neurology, and chiropractic to understand this all. Honestly, I’m still learning and will always be learning. But, there’s always one constant, chiropractic is about life and how to help people and animals live a life more connected to themselves. Now, who doesn’t want some of that?
My honest hope for humanity, is that we just all get to experience life to our fullest. As someone who’s had many sports injuries, I know that when my body is performing better I am less concerned about the little things and more connected to the bigness of life within and around. When we have more health we get to enjoy more of life.
